I think this is a great forum , clear well set out and packed with top information. Happy to join this one ! I stumbled in here after my 09 696 decided that electricity was passe and let it all run away. No biggie as I was on a test ride to get used to its foibles and was not too far from base so rescue was easy. (incidentally if any of you get stuck near birmingham give me a shout as I can sometimes help to collect depending on my workload.) I ride motogymkhana and have vans to take bikes to competitions . I like nimble bikes and thought the 696 may be promising as a motogymkhana bike. I don't think I can afford to risk it as yet but who knows if to continues to act up it will slide down the scale of bike love and may get thrashed round the gymkhana course in the future! Thanks for the heads up on how ducks like to move electricity from where it should be to where is no damn use at all! so battery lead kit and rectifier may well be on order soon after I investigate the guts of this bike. thanks excige www.exactuk.com great offer on leads. does anyone do an injection remap to get rid of the snatchy fuel delivery at low revs? Can anyone recommend some sensibly priced adjustable levers for the brembo clutch and brake on my 09 696 monster as the last mm snatch on the clutch is not how I like it. cheers iain
cheers guys kettles on. I also have an older monster 600? engine that i was looking to fit in to a hard tail brat bobber chop frame not decided which yet how do you identify which engine is which? perhaps i will start another thread on that one when I can dig the engine and frame out in the workshop

Pearly white bike with a little bit of red. We put the bins out on a Wednesday but don't get too excited by the wheely bin. lol
