What's that about the best laid plans of mice and men?? Got togged up, got the bike out and set off. Engine management light stayed on So I went back and put it away again. Call to the dealer planned for the minute they open
same result if you turned ignition on repeatedly I’m guessing? - happens on ‘older’ ones but can go out after a few attempt.
Shame, even if it suddenly worked it doesn’t give peace of mind so best approach (dealer). I am guessing you could get a fault code displayed if you felt like it?
Spoken to the service manager and he thinks it's probably something and nothing, as it was riding ok despite the light being on, so I am going to take it in late afternoon for them to check over.
Well this afternoon I headed over to Ducati Manchester and as I set off the bloody engine management light went off I decided to continue there anyway just so they could check it out. Had a fantastic ride there! Anyway the tech guy wired it up when I got there (he already knew what the issue was before he did) and he confirmed it was a torque related glitch which the old 1100 Monster had, but was resolved with an update. They are expecting an update for the Scrambler very soon as it seems it’s happened to other 1100 Scramblers. So with the job jobbed I rode off and had another fabulous ride home!! And when I got home SWMBO had arranged for us to view the house/converted barn she fancied. The house was beautiful, well appointed and incredibly spacious. However the downside was shared access for parking, and limited parking availability which would undoubtedly be an issue when visitors came. The downside outweigh the upside on this occasion, so we are sticking with the house we’ve put a reservation on. So far anyway.
I spent a few days there in 2016 Jim. You could easily spend a week and not even scratch the surface. Everyone should do the tour, never forget.
