Hi to all, I was just trying to pair the GPS with the motorbike and, after successfully doing that, I switched the bike off. Then I remembered I wanted to reset the partial kilometres and average speed so I will ready for a tour on Sunday with some friends. So, I pressed the button you normally use to start the bike and nothing happened. Again and nothing. I went home for the passive key and nothing. So, I read in the user manual I can press the button under the hands-free cover. I did that, and the bike started and asked me to introduce the pin. I switched off, tried to star with the keys and nothing. Tried again with the button and it worked. I would appreciate any hint. Thanks in advance.
If you use the passive key it needs to be place right next to the receiver ... if you knew that and it still didn’t work , then it could be the handsfree unit If you didn’t know , it could just need a new battery in the normal key
Just throwing it out there as you mention pairing the GPS. Is the GPS still plugged in and is it via the cigarette adapter? I’ve had this happen as I have a TomTom unit that gives off so much interference when plugged in, that it blocks the immobiliser. I have to unplug it, start the bike and then plug it in again. It’s actually quite a handy anti hijack system as I can hit the kill switch and they can’t even start with a key unless they unplug the TomTom unit.
It is a Garmin and not plugged in the USB. I am using the connector that comes with the bike and all the remaining cables are under the left panel.
No it isn't. The aerial is on the right, under the black cover - it is just below where you put your hand on the throttle. That is where you have to put the red key.
Hi had same problem try removing battery from passive key fob and reinsert battery it worked for me hope it does for you
This morning I replaced the battery of the active key but didn't make a difference. It only works pressing the button and introducing the PIN code. I also noted the steering lock feature doesn't work neither. I tried with the pasive key on the right below the gas but wasn't able to make it work. Do you have a picture to show me where the antenna is?
Item 7 is the antenna for the hands free key. It is fixed on the underside of the cowling / fairing, near the Hella 12V power socket.
Hello to all, Firstly, I really appreciate the support and the answers you gave me. I just wanted to let you know I was yesterday at the dealer and, after 30 minutes the motorbike was fixed. I have attached a picture to this post with a red circle; they told me that, if the red circle is pressed, the communication between the antenna on the bike and the keys is deactivated and you have to press it again for it to work, which it does now. I didn´t have a clue about this feature, so I wanted to share the output with you guys in case it will be useful for another forum member.
I was installing the GPS this afternoon, so I guess I could have pressed the button while routing the GPS cable.
