  2. Listening to an interview on Radio 4.

    Extraordinary!

  3. Seen him a few times,yonks ago.Good times band.

  4. Gonna grab the podcast when available. Read a bit on him on BBC website - plenty of food for thought there, kinda chokes you up. Live for the day without necessarily going mad seems a fair edict to follow. Good luck sir!!

  5. Found a LP of his today that I'd forgotten I'd got, Solid Sender with a LE bonus live album. He's one of my guitar heroes and being from Sarfend I've seen him live quite a few times.

  6. Very sad. He has great style.

  7. Very sad indeed. But I'm going to see him gig next month.

  8. You lucky Barsteward!! I missed the deadline and completely sold out at wolverhampton in 3 hours @ £17.50... some sick tosser touts are asking over £140 now!
Seen Wilko and Norman at Strat u Avon many times also seen him at various clubs around Brum.

    Sad news :frown:

  9. What a fantastic attitude! I hope he gets the touring done.

  10. Guitar Hero.Saw him at Hitchin College when I was in my teens, was knocked out with his stuff.
Fast forward 20 years,I was doing monitor sound at some no-dad Council gig in Rochester, and he's/they're the only act.
Sad to see someone as good as him still carrying his own amp,but thats the music biz
An hour or so of fantastic playing, and I'm so stunned I decide to ask the band if they've got any CDs on sale,(a rare event-me buying CD's at a gig..)
Anyway, head for the dressing room, they they are in a fug of very fragrant smoke, stupid grins all round, stoned as nellies.
I ask the man himself,he produces a battered briefcase and gives me the CD.
    "A fiver please".
No worries,I thought, and pulled the solitary ten pound note from my wallet...
He took the note, grinned and yelled,"NO CHANGE!"....and just stuck the money in his pocket!
He was that good,it was worth the tenner, but that moment makes me laugh even now..
    Top bloke.

  11. This one's a good one - but I find not as simple as he makes it look (everything takes practice - he's had plenty).

  12. My favourite Wilko album is Barbed wire blues.

  13. Have met him :) worked a few gigs .
Messy buggers in their offstage room as well!!!
Always knew it was Christmas as their last gig of the year was always up here!

Very very sad and a cruel illness .
Think Patrick Swayze and how fit and well he looked :( it took him as well.

What a man .... And so sad he lost his wife to cancer as well :(
    A cruel cruel illness.
I hope he gets to play well and finish what he wants to do .
