Uh-oh: Rossi disses Ducati (inc Qatar spoilers)

  1. I can't believe Derek's missing this moment:)

  2. I don't think there is any doubt that pretty much everyone is seeing the Casey era in a new light whether they admit it or not.

To me Rossi in a roundabout way is saying it's the motor as that is the common factor (90 degree). Whether prezeosi gets the blame if that is case depends on whether he didn't want to change it or wasn't allowed to.

I did read Burgess say that a 90 degree motor wasn't an issue they couldn't overcome in other ways. I also read Rossi say in effect that Hayden had ridden the bike way beyond what was acceptable risk to get his 6th place. I have to say when they cut to Hayden in his pit garage he looked less than happy. Although Rossi is the man doing the talking in public he might not be the only voice of descent.

  3. I don't think many doubted Stoner's ability to ride the bike fast and win on it though i had hoped Rossi might be able to match his achievements on it. Maybe he would have done 10 years ago but we will never know.

There is no doubting now though that there is something fundamentally flawed in the design that prevents it from competing with the Honda and Yamaha.

  4. He's gone back to Jockland! but surprised He's not been on this forum

  5. Descent:
the act, process, or fact of moving from a higher to a lower position. Synonyms: falling, sinking; fall, drop. 2. a downward inclination or slope. Synonyms: decline ...

I know you meant dissent, but never was a truer word..............................

  6. Yeah shame he isn't about,I enjoyed the heated banter, but just as well Steve ,his jaw would hit the floor.
It's like an arch enemy has mellowed and sat in front of the fire with his slippers on and a cup of horlicks in hand, falling slowly asleep with spittle running down his chin:eek:

  7. Spoke to Derek last week, he's doing well and enjoying being home, if you're all missing 749er I'll let him know...

  8. That would be great Roy :upyeah:

  9. That's the thing Pete, It was all just banter as behind the scenes.......................
I await TP's response later as He's on down under time.

  10. TP is busy on twitter advising Casey on Julian Clarey wrist syndrome. Apparantly it is brought on by poor tyre management but often disguises itself as wrist pain.

Sorry but there is too much Casey luv going on. It's not healthy or normal (bit like Casey's over white teeth) for TP to see such things without weening him off slowly and we should all get a grip and think of his mental state.

Whinging poms unite and save the TP from forum disaster and disagree with everything he says. (like normal)

    He will thank you later.

  11. Just had a very small blip mate, Honest!
    Normal service is resumed :upyeah:

  12. "they'll never know if those 8-9 hundredths are lacking in the bike or the riders"

I think if it was 8 or 9 hundredths there'd be no problem. The problem is it's 1-1.5 SECONDS per lap or more. A LONG way in MotoGP.

I think Rossi should quit now and go to Tech 3. I'm sure they'd run a 3rd bike for him. And I bet he'd be RIGHT back in the fray on an even vaguely competitive machine.

  13. I had been wondering, in terms of the internal politics, quite whom the target of VR's remarks was: VR vs Jerry (hard to imagine), VR & Jerry vs Duc in general, or vs Guareschi (as team boss), or Preziosi (as designer), or Del Torchio (as president) etc. His remark in that Autosport link resolves that one:

"It's very clear who makes our bike: [Filippo] Preziosi is the boss and the thinking brain behind everything. It's up to him to help us..."

  14. Or he's having a pop at everyone because he's lost self belief in himself and cant give it the extra needed at that level.

  15. It looked like a direct dig at Preziosi to me.

  16. I agree. VR is highly intelligent as well as politically astute, and that looked targeted.

  17. Wow, Rossi really has turned out to be the PR dream for Ducati that some peeps on Ducatisti were promising the world... Thank god they no longer have to deal with the PR nightmare Stoner was.

  18. You could be looking back on this moment in a years time and think what a smart player Vale is as it turned from that moment on. Or you could see it as the beginning of the end.

Time will tell but you have to say Motogp just became big news again, and that is the Rossi factor.

  19. ONE on ONE

Watch part 2 and the last 2 mins
