The speaker stands were another recycle - they were actually part of a large industrial hopper system being made by the engineering company I used to work for. One of the welders miss-read the drawing and welded the small (speaker) end plates on wrong - he welded them in line rather than at 45º to the box section. As they were heading for the skip I milled off the features on the top, added the stick on foam rubber, and welded the large base plates on. they are hollow and eventually will get filled with concrete. mind you, base plates aside they are 5mm thick, so they aren't exactly light. the top plates are 10mm thick.
As neither bike got cleaned properly before I very hastily put them to bed, and as today was snow-free and reasonably 'warm' (i.e. not freezing) it was a day for action! Gave Triumph a good wash, started it and dried it as best I could, and then liberally sprayed up / wiped with ACF-50. Put it back and plugged back into Optimate. Gave 848 a good wash, started it and dried it as best I could. Put it back and plugged back into Optimate. Tomorrow it will get the ACF-50 treatment.
The seat came from autolusso in houghton regis. The seat was from a 156 they had broken, but some of the interior was too poor to sell complete, so I was able to just buy one seat (passenger in this case) the drivers seat was utterly destroyed..gawd knows how many miles it had done, as that momo leather wears very well.
I didn't get a chance to post this as 'what have you done today' on Thursday, but thought that some of the ladies might like these? This was before meeting Ian (ChamMTB) for a catch up on all things Ducati, Panigale and Desmosedici then dinner in the city and inadvertently getting myself in a film being made outside the restaurant.
I sell Irregular Choice products too, 'Whimsical Miaow' Is one of our best sellers! There's a matching bag too!
I was gonna whip the footrests off the Griso and polish them up, I even bought some circlip pliers for the job. But the holes in the circlips are too small for the pliers, and they're countersunk into the footrest bracket, so bollocks to it, I'll have another cuppa instead
Having been awake from 1am till 5.20am this morning (tried watching Ghost Rider but its shite) I'm now laid in bed trying to rest a little more before I have to go to my grandsons 1st birthday party. Should I go in my birthday suit do you think?
