1299 Front Brake Pads, Renewal

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Duc1299, May 24, 2018.

  1. Hi Guys, apparently, I need a new set of fornt brake pads after 5000 miles, spotted when in for a service.

What pads does anyone recommend OEM or aftermarket, road use only

  2. My go to pad is the Brembo SC. Much better feel and staying power than the OE Brembo SA and not as labour intensive as the racing pads. Andy

  3. I should have said that is on my 1098R and the girlfriend’s Diavel. Andy

  4. What do you mean by labour intensive, Andy? My 1098R has racing pads in by the previous owner and I can't say that I've noticed them being any more or less awesome than any of the other bikes in the garage.

  5. That’s good going. Got 3.5 out of mine.

  6. I was advised that the full blown Brembo racing pads needed warming up to be fully effective. Not so much of a problem on track as you are on and off the brakes a lot but as I rarely use my brakes on the road (and why would you with a big V twin engine braking) the SCs perform from the off with feel and power. • Thanks Thanks x 1
  7. I must be doing something wrong. 12k miles and the OEM pads are doing fine...

  8. Probably just reading the road well fella
