That V4 time is frankly embracing,10.84 for a 1/4 mile, I did a 10.91 at Thorney Island on my old 748R, a 10.019 on my '08 Fireblade at the same venue and don't ask about my ZZR1400 time. all normal road bikes BTW. Lots of people say that there is no skill in going fast in a straight line, oh yes there is. I bet the V4 will do a 9.8 in the right hands.
Thought these bikes had launch control? My mate pins his Aprilia off the limiter, just dumps clutch and it tears off.
They used launch control but it didn't seem to work too well considering the great reports of the rest of the electronic package...
It's like the Red and Yellow debate all over again with the V2's being Red and V4's being the underdog
As I said, the v4 isn’t a drag racer. I did wonder what the 1/4 times would be like after riding one.
Agreed. According to this, my car will beat my V4 to 1/4 mile, 0-60 and 0-100.... But I know for a fact any superbike will hammer me from say 60-130. And 0-whatever if you could keep the front down. Drag racing is very simple. Power, torque, weight & grip. It’s easy to work out who’s gonna win.
VAG Group bike vs VAG Group car. Hmmmm. The bike is FAST, but wouldn't it be good if the car was not that far off.... Just sayin.
I ran my 848 Evo at North Weald (run what you brung) my fastest time was 11.4 secs 1/4 mile standing start so the V4 seems bloody slow in comparison I would have expected 10 sec run if not less
I’ve not used the launch control on mine yet, but that vid makes it look rubbish!. The 0-60 time on a bike is fair as it’s difficult to get them off the line, but 6.3 seconds to 100 in a bike with other 200 bhp, was he short shifting?!.
No doubt. Probably quicker. But only in the right hands. Takes a lot of skill to launch any super bike to its potential.
