I bought Lorenzo’s book. It was £2:50 in one of those cheap book shops two years ago. I might read it now.
I watched a programme the other day on BT Sport or summat in which Lorenzo was being honest and gave a good account of why he is like he is and what his ethos is when riding. To be honest I would hate to see him retire, he's got years left in him and just needs to get his confidence back regardless of which bike he is on.
They were using the Carbon frame 'some time' late in 2008! Stoner had been campaigning to move from the steel frame to it for a while and they did. Rossi hated all versions of it and they first went back to a 'half alloy' frame around early-mid of Rossi's first season. At this point the Alloy frame didn't have the section where the footrests mount and swingarm mounts, that came later with the first 'full' aluminium frame fairly recently, circa 2015. Anyone remember what a motivated Melandri did on a very under-developed Kawasaki (Hayate) thing? can't help but think part of it is about digging in and going balls to the wall which in fairness Rossi did for the first year on the Ducati and had some really horrid accidents...

The what ego and was gracious ? Think your forgetting a lot of slagging off during time at Yamaha - think it was 6 & 3+3 he had no need to comment during the Marques kicking incident nothing to do with him at all - but the championship was a lot easier to win - as was the championship when Rossi had a broken leg. ( pretty much a 2 horse race till then ) Just as many comments from him as Rossi - I like Rossi but when he’s slow they have work to do and he will admit it when Lorenzo is slow it’s everyone else fault - when he’s fast it’s him and feck all to do with the team ( just how it feels, comes across like a petulant spoilt unlikable little Shite )
Gents..not a Lorenzo fan here, but let's not forget he is the only rider in the current field that beat Marquez to the title. I doubt he suddenly forgot how to ride..he might do well on the Yamaha's unfortunately no space left there until VR retires.
Agreed not saying he’s not a bloody good rider - still rather he was riding than not - better than a lot that have rides
Hes just needs to find a bike he can ride to his style, in doing so take a pay cut. Didnt Rossi have the same when he went to ducati, couldnt get on with the bike
Is that the impression I gave off? I prefer their attitudes, they've both had tough times but you don't see them bitching about their bikes. Both of which aren't great. When Smith had a decent season on the Yam, he finished above Cal. I bet on the same bike they wouldn't be far apart. I think Redding is quite entertaining but doesn't seem like he's going to to leave his mark. Looks likely to lose his seat at Aprillia from the rumours I've seen, unless his results pick up. I follow him on instagram and like that he just appears to be a young guy enjoying being paid to ride really fast motorbikes. Spends most of his time driving around in his van and taking photos of his dog... Reckon he'd suit WSBK. I enjoys that kind of fast and loose style and his lanky frame probably holds him back in MotoGP. Could easily forget Bradley is still riding, don't exactly see much of him nowadays but I suppose that's maybe KTM's fault more than his. He was impressive on the Tech 3 yam but I'm worried he's not really done enough on the KTM to impress any prospective new team. I've met and chatted with him a bit at the NEC. Lovely dude but there's always some newbie coming up from Moto2 that must worry him.

Agree with so much you said there... Casey though hadn’t even neared his peak and yet retired, albeit now as a very highly paid test rider...
I suspect a few forget that Stoner won on his first year at Ducati and not again until on a honda, only taking two titles in 7yrs in MGP. Or are blinded by fandom.
