I've heard before that in Germany it remains on the police computer system. Have heard of people getting stopped then having to pay court costs and fines for the historic cases on top of reason for being tugged. Seems fair enough, had a mate stopped in the uk 20 odd years ago and was arrested as court order out for him for unpaid fines. Suspect if stopped again in spain they may be able to go for historic stuff.
A smart person in the legal profession could probably build a case for that.... but it would cost far more than 2 x €50 fines. It's Spanish road tax. Pay it, it's the digital age, were all hooked up globally now. So are the Police. It'll only come back to bite your mate( if it is your mate) on the arse later. Why would anyone go abroad without a Satnav or phone that warned of upcoming cameras? Except of course Bazzer who was with me most of the time but it only goes to prove my point. You're on your bike for a long time on a tour, you're going to pass quite a few speed cameras. We have to pay for our pleasures, either up front or later. Personally I prefer preventative. Waze is a great app but I think you'll need a power supply to your phone.
It is my mate Sam, and he is going to pay it, if it is the final one that is. If your going to argue the toss, you have to do it in Spanish apparently. He did have a satnav, with camera warnings (which is illegal to use in Spain) but he doesn't have comms so can't hear it tweeting, and if you saw his phone, it's only one step up from two tins and a bit of string.
For the tranquility I not only gave 50 euros, that hurt me to a country like poland where the conversion euro pln rate is better and you have a climate of less buzz in the cities
