Was on a course today and it finished at twelve and they let us go home. So into the garage stripped the fairing off the 1098 and drained the coolant ready for my new radiator arriving.
I thought about that bloke you know when I ordered mine. I spent £84 on a Chinese one with free postage and it says posted from Uk so I shouldn't get reamed by the Royal Mail It appears Ducatis OEM radiators are already made by blind China men so paying £84 instead of the massive amount Ducati wants means I can buy 6 before I am out of pocket I am sure the choice is more difficult when you have an R, it would make me ponder the problem for longer. There are a few on here that have Chinese ones and have had no problems
Yeh, I want to keep original but it is a weak point so might be worth a professional repair - might last longer.
I'm going to scrutinise mine and see what it involves to get it repaired. I don't know if it's a design fault or manufacturing fault. If it's the former the Chinese one won't be any better in the long run Mine went not long after I bought it and this one was the so called improved replacement gone in exactly the same place
Took the grandson for a ride called in at Bikers Clearance in Coleshill got him some new gloves Nice ride weather was good, the lad is really getting into bikes taking him to see some racing in a couple of weeks
Today we took the three youngest daughters to spend some money they had saved up... It's scary how quick they're growing up, all 3 wanted some new clothes, one of the twins wanted her ears piercing and then the twins wanted to venture in to the world of make-up... Call me stuck in the past but for 12 year olds to feel the need to wear make-up because everybody else there age do and they get picked on because they have never felt the need to paste their faces with cosmetics is surely a very sad sign of the way times are changing! Both me and Mrs M were a bit reluctant to give them the go ahead on this but the thought of them being called absurd names and classed as 'not cool kids' because of it isn't nice either... So off to boots we trotted to have the make-up ladies do their stuff with their skin tone analysers and sort them out with some bloody expensive No7 bits and pieces I could see the basket totalling amounts well in excess of the monies I knew they had remaining in their purses, that was without Mrs M also loading up on some more bits... I knew what was coming and my wallet was sure to take the brunt of the bill but as it was there first time with make-up I didn't mind particularly and would rather them have nice products than cheap and nasty products which would be harsh on their skin. Thinking I'd be smart, I said to the girls... Don't worry about the cost of the No7 stuff, as this is your first, I'll treat you this time. 'Thanks Dad, does that mean that you'll buy us our first bottle of perfume too?' £320 later, I walked out of boots with an empty wallet and a voucher to double Mrs M's boots points next time she goes! Bloody Marvelous... They did take me to Pizza Hut for my lunch on the way home though so it was not all bad.
