Hello I'm Nick, been biking since '82, and got my 1st Ducati 848 (2009) last Feb, but unfortunately was stolen from my work car park in Feb18.. cutting a long story short with insurance money I bought a second, mint 2009 848 from Pole Position in Southend - 4k miles and fully standard. I had Termignonis on the original so bought myself a slash cut pair - look and sound awesome, but they came with 848 Evo race/DP ECU which does not work in the 848. Wondering if someone on her emay have a Termi 848 ECU to swap for my 848Evo race ECU. Alternatively I could get my spare standard 848 UK ECU remapped, but looks online like expensive business. Bit worried about using Termis with standard ECU in the meantime.. Look forward to browsing in more detail, and gaining from all your knowledge and advice. Nick
@nick123xyz Yep, I've still got one that came off my 2010 848. It is for the full race system. I took it off as I put the bike back to standard when I sold the it. It's yours for what ever you think is a reasonable price (minus a bit...) Cheers, Bob
Hi Bob that’s great news, when you say full system was that the wider pipes (70mm?) all the way to manifold, as I have slip on Termis onto the 57mm up pipes, excuse my termignology ;o) So hope fueling would be the same, worth a go anyway, as better rich than lean.. no idea on price as I had bought used evo package, but does £100 sound ok? Thanks.
Follow up on this post - Thanks to @comesunt I am now in possession of 848 Race ECU, fitted it in the week, and bike started up nicely, then out for the test ride and was great. Idle was fine, so maybe don't need TPS reset, but may get it done anyway to be sure. Nice smooth power at low speeds/gears and great progressive acceleration. The slash cut Termis make an awesome noise (sorry neighbours!!). Fitting the ECU was easy - worst bit was getting to the air-filter to change it for a high air flow, only to find it already had high air flow filter installed! Coincidentally, as i was about to go for test ride on Thursday night there was a chap taking a good look at the bike. Got chatting about Ducati 848 etc, and turns out he's a fellow member here and lives on same road. Small world - great to meet you Paul @Roadtrip. Told me so many nice mods to do to the bike, I'll have to start saving £££s. Also provided some great advice of where to go for spares and advice for Ducati in Essex. By the way all, I have a standard ECU and cans from my last 848 (2009) so if anyone is in need let me know. And dB Killers for oval 848/1098 Termignonis Also various other bits that now sit in a box...
Hi Nick Yes good to meet you, i did think when i got home that i forget to mention the air filter but sounds like you have it all in hand. I will take my super pole seat off and drop it in for you to try out as I'm sure you will like it. Not sure if you have been to High beach Epping (the tea hut) for a ride, if not we can take a ride there for a cuppa and slice of cake Paul
Hey Paul, No not been to High Beach Epping, sounds good to me, good to know a few more good routes above the Thames. That would be great to try out the seat. I’m gong to check out my imported (partial) dB stoppers soon too. Cheers.
