Most Collectable Ducaties.......ever ( Inc Prototypes )

  1. By your logic, this thread would have ended in 5 mins. Post the production numbers of each bike, sort them in order from least to most produced and you have your answer.

I suspect the reality would be very different.

  4. I've got one :-( but only because my mates missus worked for a Ducati dealer and he got it free and gave it to me as a birthday present!!!! Tw*t

999R X - dont really like the look of it
    999R mk2- same as mk1 - not interested
999R F - dont really like the look of it
    999R mk3 - same as mk1 - not interested
    1098R - amasing
    1098R TB - got one
1198 SP - almost bought one , but decided to buy 1199s instead , now wish i didnt
1198R - on the list to get
D16RR - probably scariest ride ever? would love to have a go!
    1199R - not really interested
    PR - no idea
    P SL - super overpriced,

  6. You are a Russian oligarch and I claim my £5.

  7. Bet its easier to buy a D16 than a 998R

Number of Desmosedicis for sale on ebay? 3.
Number of 998Rs for sale on ebay? 0.

I would guess in terms on numbers the Superleggera may be the rarest as only 500 were ever made but the question isn't about rarity, its about collectibility. The fact you can't find 998Rs for sale for love nor money says to me they are highly sought after, there are always D16s for sale though. Don't get me wrong the D16 is a lovely thing too but its not as collectible.

  8. Nobody mentions the Multistrada

  10. Yes, do not mention the Multistrada.

    Beaks are not collectible.

  12. Naturally they are, they are a great bike. But the fact you can't find one is because there weren't many made. Simple really.

To me, an RD350LC is highly collectable, even though they were 10 a penny back in the day. Mass produced, yet collectable. There are many bikes that were made in less numbers that aren't remotely collectable.

And I'll stick with the Desmo thanks, no matter what version of a 916/996/998 I was offered to swap with. :grinning:

  17. Anybody want to buy a 1098R that’s won a national championship? Just been restored including engine and gearbox refresh?
