  1. So on a ride yesterday my girlfriends Monster M800 (2004) decided to make this crack in the tank (around 29 degrees celcius outside) Any idea how this could happen? I am taking it to the dealer where i bought it 11 months ago tomorrow..

  2. Petrol with high ethanol content?

  3. Standard 95 petrol from gas station (She won’t spend the extra cash on 99 V power ;-) )

  4. I didn’t mean that. Cheap supermarket fuel? That could have high percentage of ethanol, which expands tanks.

  5. well just plain fuel from Shell?

  6. am guessing it's a plastic tank? looks like it could be the edge of a previous repair.

    • Agree Agree x 1
  7. I don't think a flipping petrol tank should crack with petrol in it full stop.

  8. It is a plastic tank, but there was nothing to see before.. But it looks like it was painted yellow at some point

  9. Yes with Chris on this one a very poor repair:(

  10. Same principal as your plastic petrol can in the corner of the garage for your lawn mower, on a hot day is expanding all the time,i'll take a metal material every time:upyeah:

  11. The funny thing is that here is no leak present?

  12. You won't get a fuel leak as it is a poor paint job:upyeah:

  13. Ahh ok, so the paint has to be removed and re painted ?

  14. looking at the picture and what you have said about yellow paint...then yes

  15. Or try and source another tank, a ‘dented’ plastic tank needs careful examination as it’s potentially weaker and more likely to rupture compared with a steel tank with a ‘smooth’ dent in it, plus unless things have changed I don’t know what sort of filler is available that would stick successfully to the tank. It’s made from polyamide PA6.

  16. So went to the dealer, and he Will get another tank for it... So now I just need some Yellow stickers for the sides. Any idea where to get these? UK or Europe is fine..
