Hi everyone. Firstly, an apology. None of my questions seem to flow and seem a little "up in the air". Ive just been searching and found my own posts. Even I was confused. I have a 2001 Ducati Monster S4. It is without its original engine. I have just purchased a 996 SBK bottom end. I am in the process of stripping this engine down. The SBK rear swing arm mounts differently to the ST4 or S4 in that it goes through a section of frame that does not exist on the monsters frame. What do I have to get machined on the 996 cases to convert it to allow me to use the S4's normal double sided swing arm. Thank you. ** edit - engine being returned - Will get correct engine and start again **
Bosses welded to the cases that match the offset and width of the s4 cases. Along with bores machined to take the swingarm bearings. going from memory...
Thank you. I've actually packed this bottom end up this afternoon to send it back to where I got it from. I think I'm just going to have to get s4 or st4 and build from that. A mild inconvenience but not the end of the world. Thanks final_edition Alan
