My 916 the guy used to take in the van to mot and then just put it back in the garage for a few years but never used it at all so mileage was the same for a fair few years , also above bike could have belonged to a garage who had the bike on display and just kept mot ing it for sake of it as they had an mot station , how could they list it with the complete wrong mileage on it in first place
     
  4. Scammers are back I see it’s been removed now , all seem the same format over last few months like the same gangs doing it I presume they use the we will deliver it by a courier to your door you can’t view it as I’m away on business sort of thing

  5. Yes spotted that too, ask the guy a load of questions then had a good look at the photos and noticed a number of things that did look original

    I may be getting old but how does this scam actually work? So you make contact to his so called brothers e mail address and he wants cash on arrival! So I presume there is no bike etc but then what? They hit you on your bonce?

  11. Or they are that cheap greedy people want to secure the bargain with a deposit - they might take several bank transfer deposits to hold the same vehicle then scarper...

When I read things like this there's part of me that thinks that the people who get stitched up ask for it as the alarm bells should have been ringing straight away, but having said that there are people out there like my dad who still live in a world of trust and are ignorant to this sort of thing. It's time eBay got thier act together. If the likes of us can spot these scams surely the so called professionals who run and monitor eBay should be able to and make sure they never get listed in the first place. Hell, if I so much as put my phone number or email address in an email I get busted straight away and slapped with a warning or suspension.
