My 916 the guy used to take in the van to mot and then just put it back in the garage for a few years but never used it at all so mileage was the same for a fair few years , also above bike could have belonged to a garage who had the bike on display and just kept mot ing it for sake of it as they had an mot station , how could they list it with the complete wrong mileage on it in first place

Yes spotted that too, ask the guy a load of questions then had a good look at the photos and noticed a number of things that did look original
Apparently he has the original wheels, but it's down to the personal checks with Ducati UK on this one plus some Sherlock Holmes grey matter

Or they are that cheap greedy people want to secure the bargain with a deposit - they might take several bank transfer deposits to hold the same vehicle then scarper...
When I read things like this there's part of me that thinks that the people who get stitched up ask for it as the alarm bells should have been ringing straight away, but having said that there are people out there like my dad who still live in a world of trust and are ignorant to this sort of thing. It's time eBay got thier act together. If the likes of us can spot these scams surely the so called professionals who run and monitor eBay should be able to and make sure they never get listed in the first place. Hell, if I so much as put my phone number or email address in an email I get busted straight away and slapped with a warning or suspension.
I arranged to see this on Friday when back in the uk but it sold within a few hour. If the dealer had a better rep I might have bought it unseen.
