Will do mate, I have not looked at bars or suspension yet, just looking at getting that ugly fat arse off first. Was gonna take the rear pegs off today, but my hanger not turned up I have just found out, even though ordered Thurs with next day delivery ?? I'm sure it will get here in the end.....
Enjoy the new bike lad, but I have to say I'm not down with da kidz on this one I'm afraid. I love KTM dirt bikes but the look of their road bikes leaves a lot to be desired for me.
It's a grow on ya for sure, but I love it mate, think it's fresh and new, but also think it looks much better in the flesh than in pics, but I get where your coming from. (am guessing you're old like ET. Soz. LOL. Ha Ha, see...down with the kidz)
Wayne I know it has a great engine and goes like fu*k but my god - is it ugly - looks like it breed with a praying mantis.... I think KTM need to partner with some other Italians as well to get some styling tips... Have you bought a helmet with black visor so no one can recognise you? Second thought after seeing this was the story about the 2 brown bags for him and her just in case one of them falls off..... What have you done? Enjoy the ride but don’t forget the bags... I apologise for any offence this causes as I know you dumped a lot of money to buy this .... But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and as long as you like it that’s OK.... Sorry......
No problem at all mate, most new ideas take time for folk to like, but I genuinely find it radical and fresh. Remember the new 5 series and other stuff like when the new snub nose Blade came out in 2008, or the 70's Jag XJS even. There are more than I can list new things that folk don't like at the beginning, that they later see as beautiful but I love the SDR looks, and more importantly to me, is the way something performs what its supposed to do. The SDR rides and goes unbelievably well, and I have always been more of function than form type of bloke, and lets be honest, the Multi looks like an "angry bird" character but folk now see it as the best looking sports adventure bike ? Go figure, but it takes all sorts, and cause KTM don't conform to whats considered normality, is what I actually like.
KTM styling is....KTM styling....ugly or not they're consistent across their range angular is their signature look. I like them.....still don't look as good as my zed though! Lovely bike pally...interested to hear what you think...
Will do Andy, give me a few days to ride it on something other than the A34 back home, and I'll post my thoughts. Took it out after I got home, to my local pub, and first impressions on roads I know, very very good.
