My wife and I got back from a 3,500 mile tour to Dubrovnik (Croatia) on Tuesday. It was a fantastic trip taking in The B500, The Grossglockner, The Timmelsjoch and much much more. Our 1260s has now clocked up 6'500 miles since Christmas! The only real issue is that; at Autobahn speeds my my wife gets some serious buffeting. So Yesterday I scoured the internet to find a solution. A very helpful chap from www.MotorcycleInfo.co.uk said " @Jamie Clare " may have what I'm looking for (on Facebook). I don't do Facebook so I asked on here if anyone had contact details. In the meantime www.MotorcycleInfo.co.uk contacted Jamie on my behalf and Jamie joined this forum. I think he will be a great asset to us but @Exige had other ideas! (See the Jamie Clare thread).
Bit harsh, you need to re read what I wrote. He’s unstable... It looked very odd, I questioned it nicely, he exploded... I think he was already annoyed with the spaceman pic that looked like him too. He was the one throwing insults, I didn’t retaliate with any...
In fairness to @Exige the post had all the makings of an “I have been scammed” thread. It was all a bit cryptic... Jamie didn’t help himself with the responses. “I don’t suffer fools” attitudes come over as high-handed and if he’s skilled then it’s be a shame for us all to regard him as an arrogant cock before he’s had a chance to dazzle us. This post makes sense of things and I’m sure Jamie will find the forum very useful. It’s one of the friendliest.
It might be an over reaction on my part but you didn’t welcome me. You just insinuated something dodgy was happening. I asked what the issue was and you made a comment not knowing the facts about how and why I’ve joined the forum. How would you react in that situation. I don’t sit back and take bull from people, that’s my way and no number of clever wordy responses trying to make me out to be the issue will change the fact you were just fishing for a reaction. Right here we go... appologies. I’ll introduce myself. Start over. Hello I’m jamie, I’ve owned my multi for just over a year. I’m an engineer and have my own engineering business. I spent 20 years working in automotive and motorsport and was quite good at it. I am a grumpy fucker (that’s me being honest) but I’m very happy to help anyone with anything and I do have a dry sense of humour. I’m straight to the point as I just don’t have the time to talk bull in my daily life... everything’s boom, boom, boom. Hope you get that, it just carries over. So... as a tall person I was getting a lot of buffeting from the screen in the bike. I tried three different screens with no change in the discomfort. As I have a workshop full of toys I decided to research and come up with a solution. We even did some CFD studies on the bike. The spacers were designed. I’ve been selling a few extra sets of these about the Facebook groups after a few owners saw me with them so I made a few extra sets and as Hugo mentioned a mutual contact pointed me here so I could get in touch with him as he’s not on face book. That’s the story really. Nothing dodgy. Just me trying to sort a brother out.
