Anyone like watches ?

  1. I don't have a watch as I can't justify spending the money on the ones I like

That however is vulgar to an extreme!

  2. Porsche used to sell their own wristwatch, the price of which was higher than an entry-level Boxster.

    Market forces, eh?

  3. This one has to take trashy ostentatious vulgarity to a new extreme, even by the standards of overpriced bejewelled wrist candy.

  4. I like a nice watch but that is not only stupidly priced but completely hideous!

  5. Just goes to show money can not buy taste

  6. That's so not nice
    These much better

  7. Definitely prettier! Be a bit wary of dropping a lot of money on Breitlings though. My understanding is that they don't make their own movements but buy them in and re-brand them. This practice is viewed dimly by watch aficionados apparently and differs from "proper" watchmakers who make all their own movements e.g. Patek Phillipe, Rolex etc etc.

  8. That's proper pikey! Yuk.

  9. That really is the most hideous looking watch I have ever seen.
I'd much rather have a nice Omega Seamaster and £186,000 change.

    Deaks

  10. I like watches and have a couple of nice ones. I'm not convinced that advert is genuine? Too many simple errors, stating it's both a gents and lades watch, and automatic and quartz movement! The main thing though is who sells a watch like that on ebay......

These are the ones not in their winders! So in answer to your question 'anyone like watches?' I think I have a problem!

  12. LOL! If you have Winders, you have a problem!!

  13. Bell and Ross are too big for my wrists :-( Same with some IWC, still, it saves the wife complaining too much!

  14. Rolex don't make all theirs either - Zenith have been making the daytona movement for Rolex for years...

  15. My fav watch is my omega seamaster.

  16. Yeah! I just saw that! El Primero movement apparently - though they've recently stopped doing that. I have a Daytona I bought a few years ago so I'm wondering now what movement it has in it. It also means I'll take Zenith watches a LOT more seriously! Thanks for the info!

  17. Yep, you certainly do. Your battery is about to run out also

  18. Can't say I like rolex either

    Omega do some nice watches

  19. The recent trend for oversize watches creates quite a few issues like that.

On a separate question, has anyone got a tip for getting the back off a Breitling? The jewellers say they can't get the back off it and therefore can't service it.
