There is no collective European identity. When push comes to shove its national interests that come first. Those are the facts of life. The irony of this is that Britain's stance on all this sovereignty nonsense is likely to see the break up of the United Kingdom and Great Britain. From next year both Wales and Scotland can set their own tax rates and the Govt's insistence of no border between NI and the Republic but a border between NI and England will only hasten the reunification of Ireland.
