Donington 5th July, Doocardi Day.

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Mary Hinge, Jun 9, 2018.

  1. Nice to meet Dukeman today felt really sorry for him and his mechanical breakdown- tough luck. Hope you got home ok with a lift from Snells.
Morning was a crash fest in fast group, can’t remember the last time I didn’t complete the first lap of the day due to red flag. As always Coppice claimed the most casualties.

  2. Coppice is that the double apex before the back straight??

  3. Did @Mary Hinge get out on his V4? I was hoping to have done this TD, left it too late and was sold out. Hope everyone had a great day, wonderful weather for it.

  4. Looking forward to some more reports on the V4, I'd like to see them being thrashed as the nice people at Ducati intended :)

  5. I know that someone's V4 leaked all its coolant out in the garage.

  6. and one of the several v4s that crashed did the crankcase cover and was leaking oil...

  7. There was a guy turned up on his 1299......but was using a hire v4, he did about two laps before being involved in a incident, crashing, and breaking his collar bone.

  8. Sounds like an expensive day for ducati.

  9. I've bought one lot of pictures from the main photographers that were there (picman) but were there any other companies doing photos and did anyone do any videos?
I wasn't brave enough to attach my action camera to my bike as I didn't want any potential distractions, wish I had used the camera now though!

  10. What a great day! Nice to meet no guts no glory Sonic tobytyke and others... thoroughly enjoyed myself!! And the weather!! Redders, reminded me of Brno.

  11. too many crashes yesterday and a few were V4's, spoke to collar bone guy...got shunted from behind whilst avoiding getting taken out from inside. Must have been a gutter if you were in fast group for that 1st session...1 lap!

  12. They should think about cronoing thee Ducati days.

  14. Excellent day! Weather was amazing, and great to meet some of you guys too!

Yes there were a surprising amount of crashes for a Ducati day! I previously thought people were a bit more careful on these days! Until I heard about all the crashes, and came across a Desmosedici rider carving everyone up in inters! He got the head shake from an instructor tut tut. Riding was a lot closer than expected!

Apart from that the rest of the day was great! The termi system on Mary's bike sounds amazing! Heard a few Akra systems on 2 speciales too! The day was well run and organised. So glad I made it!

The pictures apparently will be up on this website some time soon apparently.

  15. I took 2 videos on my phone. One of the green group lining up in the pits and setting out. and one at the melbourne hairpin of the red group afternoon session. Let me know if anyone wants to have a look and ill upload them.

  16. I suspect that will be the same D16RR that got a finger waving at Silverstone after leaving about 6 inches on overtakes. Andy

  17. Hi there, I would very much like to see the video of the green group.

    Many thanks,
    Duncan.
