Hello everyone, after a bit of research I've seen that a lot of people recommend using Paraffin (i.e. thinned out Kerosene) for de-greasing & cleaning the chain. Thoughts on this? Any previous experience? I've found this 4L Paraffin container and I wanted to make sure it's the "right product", as I've never bought this before and I'm not sure if there's different versions for different purposes.
That's exactly what I use and have used for 20+ years. Paraffin is oil based and thus is ok, it won't wreck your O/X rings. Alcohol based products or extremely light end products like Naphtha can cause damage but paraffin is fine, crack on !! https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/paraffin-chain-cleaning.9541/
Ive always used paraffin. Occassionally old petrol when ive run out. Paraffin is spot on perfect for the job. Dont use a degreaser like gunk ive been told. I never have but dont know if this is factually correct.
That's the brand I use also, perfect for chain cleaning. Notice the 'grease ninja' adapters for chain lube application..
Very imaginative, going to copy your idea and sell it on the World Wide Web then retire on the proceeds.... How's that for a like.
Thanks for your input! I guess it's time to go buy some paraffin. GunZenBomZ, nice setup! Did you buy the greaseninja tool from a UK website? Been searching but haven't found any selling it.
