What disc lock are people using on their Multistrada. The ones I've tried don't fit, anybody have any recommendations.
Abus granite 8077, is what I use , good solid bit of kit with an alarm as well, sometimes come up cheaper than normal on amazon.
This may sound stupid, but where do you fit it. When I tried one of these I couldn't get it anywhere near the rear wheel disc. Am I missing something ?
I’ve used this for 5 years and only changed the battery once and it fits the back or front disc https://www.xenasecurity.com/xx-series-disc-lock-alarms/xx14/
Ahhhh!.........that explains it then, I didn't try the front wheel as they recommend you disc lock the rear wheel as this makes it slightly harder to wheel away the bike.
Xena XN18 Disc Lock on front disks. I think it has the biggest pin on the market (diameter). Already warped a disk with it
Does the security bolt thing have to align with the holes in the brake discs before it can be locked?
No, but you can only roll the bike for a few mm before you hear a little click and the wheel locks. I have one on my S1000R and would have one on all bikes now, best thing ever (after crunchy peanut butter on toast).
I don't trust anything Oxford anymore, after viewing the Almax website for a chain (which i do now have).
I realise that it is a little off topic. But when I have to park my bike (My Honda commuter) in that London, I use 3 chains/locks. An oxford chain, Oxford alarmed disk lock and one of these. https://www.rydestore.com/ryde-throtlock-motorbike-handlebar-brake-lever-lock.html So quick and easy to fit and cheap. I would also think it would be quite difficult to remove. Was considering one of these for my Ducati though: https://www.inmoto.com/buy/Ducati-Disc-lock-for-front-brake-calliper./dci-97980321A Not cheap but very convenient, and you would never forget to take it
