So what have you done today..?

  1. Today is Bakewell Carnival day, the roads through Bakewell will be closed to all through traffic for a couple of hours mid afternoon, its been a hectic week with Jack Russell racing, a raft race down the river, wheel barrow race where one pushes another from pub to pub drinking a half pint at each pub, pet show for the kids along with many other events like the Band in the park, treasure hunt etc.

  5. Burglars are getting more and more devious.

Last night the wife woke me up at 3am - "Ron, Ron, it sounds like there are burglars downstairs".

So I went downstairs and checked every room including the garage and the bike shed, and didn't find anyone.

Then I realised that the wife was staying at her mothers for a couple of days, and when I went back upstairs, my bed, wallet and tv had disappeared.

  7. You sold yours yet Anthony?

SWMBO is making lists and lists and lists of what's moving, where it's going etc, and what going to the charity shops and/or incinerator. I wouldn't care but our buyer only had his survey done on Thursday and the house we are buying doesn't get surveyed till 16th July. I daren't point out the old saying "many a slip betwixt cup and lip".

  10. Handed the wife a formal looking letter that arrived this morning, it's a NIP for 83 mph on M6 at Brunthwaite:grinning:

Suggested it will hopefully be a speed awareness course and I will pay for it, plus expenses and day rate! she said "they'll have a photo and see it wasn't me", suggested we're not dis-similar - grey hair, slight beard growth and moustache!

Needless to say she's going to dob me in:( still it's the first one in 54 years of riding and driving!

  11. Looks like you might be ok

To be eligible you must meet this criteria

    • you admit to being the driver of the vehicle and this is received by us within 42 days of the date of the offence
    • you haven't attended a Speed Awareness course within the last three years
    • the speed you were travelling at the time of the offence must fall within the acceptable speed range (Speed limit + 10% + 9mph). For example, in a 30 mph limit – you could attend a course up to 42mph inclusive.
If under any circumstances you are unable to satisfy any of the criteria, you won't be eligible for a Speed Awareness course.

  14. Now, you see, this is one of the benefits of knowing people in te real world. Like, for example, his lovely wife doesn’t ride bikes, regardless of how many he has in the garage.

Also, it was a comment directly made it a good friend. Who took me from riding like I’d kill my self every corner to someone who others occasionally struggle to keep up with, safely.

  17. You have lost all trace of accepting humour  the fact that his wife didn't ride bikes was presumed prior to my comment
