You know you're having a crap Friday 13th when you back your bike out of the garage and the mirror catches the door and snaps off! Anyone got a left hand mirror spare?
Brittle is the most polite way of saying they're cheaply manufactured crap, stuck on a bike before a massive premium is applied. But yes, still Brittle.
I don't understand why Ducati took a backwards step from the folding mirrors on the 899. Oh wait, profit!
In all my years of owning bikes, I can honestly say that I've never had a reason to fold a mirror. Is it really a feature that's demanded by owners? The only person I think I've seen do it is Baron Von Grumble when commuting. Anyhoo, I don't have one and good luck with your search dude.
I've folded the mirrors on all my previous bikes because I share the garage with another bike so need the space. Also I drive up through a gate so fold them to avoid clipping them. I can't be the only one who does this.
I feel your pain! I snapped my right hand mirror reversing out the garage. Nasty brittle plastic. I bought a pair of Chinese copies for £36 and they are so similar you almost can't spot the difference. Haha cheers. A friend actually just bought those but they're shite apparently. With the ones he received the mirror housing is black but the stem is grey. Also they're not rigid enough. They vibrate something terrible. Perhaps I can go Chinese but not quite so cheap, but I'd prefer to find a second hand eom one of not ridiculously priced.
I have a pair of mirrors that came off a Panigale R that was converted into a trackbike - which i think is the same as the 1299 - don't know if they fit the 959. I know they are different from the 899 as my wife has one but if they fit the 959, I'll be happy to let them go for 80 a side+delivery

My thought was that after realising how easy the oem ones were to snap I'd leave the Chinese ones on till it's time to sell the bike!
Not a bad plan at all. And if he didn't say they vibrate so badly I'd probably do the same. Maybe I can find a better quality Chinese set for a bit more cash.
