1200R only has black, slightly different to the S forks too apparently, better valuing etc so I’m told. They’re bloody good whatever they are!
I'm sure they are great. No complaints with how mine work, just against yours, I prefer the look. On 2 other of my previous bikes that had gold forks, I've had them wrapped black which achieves the look I'm after. I may do this again but it's £100.00 for the work. I'll see how I feel in a few months time once I've lived with my bike for a while longer because at least on this bike, the gold forks match the gold Ohlins rear shock whereas on my other bikes, the gold forks were the only gold bits on the bikes. Decisions decisions
Wrappings a pretty good idea, good thinking! First things first though, you gotta get the reflectors off!
The tail tidies all look good, not a great lover normally because they’re just too short imo but all three of those examples look like they were on the bike from the factory.
I just ordered the termignoni and up map for the 1200s and evo tech tail tidy, booked in when i get home, dealer just informed me of recall so hopefully they will have a look at that as well.
I have a small fly screen, actually surprising just how much reduction there is in wind buffeting now. I have recently fitted an Ohlins steering damper ( https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/2017-monster-1200s-ohlins-steering-damper.57290/ ) and although it looks great there is no noticeable difference in how the bike handles and feels however hopefully it will reduce the risk of any high speed front end wobbles when I'm getting a bit of move on ;-)
Has anyone got any experience of the GPR slip on, looks like a good match as it has a sprung can which matches the look of the down tubes.
I had one unit a few years back, not on a Ducati but on a Suzuki DL650. In order for the end can to fit I had to fit their mid link pipe and it totally did not fit despite being listed for my exact same bike. Customer service support was rubbish by the approved UK stockist and I had to bodge the whole thing on in order for it to fit. After that crappy experience I have always steered well clear of that brand.
SP Engineering do one in a few different styles. I searched for a YouTube clip which exists for their diabolus “silencer” on a 2017 1200S. Amusingly it states that without the DB killer, it chuffs out a nieghbour friendly 116dB @6000rpm. Sounds like just the pipe for me. It’s BSAU stamped so insurance friendly as well!
I have just purchased the SP Engineering Diabolus end can, and when I get time next week will put it on. Too busy this week to get it sorted ...
I got an spengineering diabolus xls for mine two days ago and fitted it straight away, its bloody marvellous if a little loud (may have to put the baffles in) but I himmler it looks great, opens up the back wheel a treat.
Finally fitted my Diabolus pipe tonight. Nice and loud, although I need to check I have seated the link pipe in far enough as it is backfiring a bit. I will share some pictures over the next day or so.
Apparently the chap that invented Predictive text died earlier this week, his funfair takes place next Monkey
