Hi people, I’d be grateful for two bits of advice about a screen for my standard 1996 900ss carbie. (First) I’m very tall and I find that the existing screen doesn’t provide much protection. Is a taller or double bubble screen available, and what are the pros and cons of using those? I’m aware that they sometimes make things worse, so I realise that sticking with standard may be the realistic thing. (Second) are there recommendations for a make and supplier of a standard size clear screen, and also for a make and supplier of a taller or double bubble screen, if people think that those are a good modification? Thanks.
I have an MRA double bubble, Its a bit better but I wouldn't go any higher as I don't like the look, I trade the lack of wind protection for looks. I'm 6ft4
Hi Desmoquattro, I overlooked your reply to this query till now. Thanks for helping with this also. I'm even taller than you. I thought that I must look like a gorilla on a scooter, but apparently I look more like a giant spider... is there any chance of a pic or two of your bike with the double bubble screen? Thanks.
Thanks for the pictures, Desmoquattro. Your bike looks super nice - I like the black frame and gold wheels especially. It's good to see what the double bubble screen looks like fitted. Thanks for all your help on various topics over the last few days.
Given that I would have scrapped the screen if I found a taller one that would work, I didn't mind drilling it - this is what worked on my old, long-gone Multistrada These are still available from Bob Heath Visors, sold in pairs for a couple of quid, they're old school race fairing wind/rain deflectors for the hands. Tape them on with duct tape, ride to find most effective location, move, adjust, drill, screw supplied nuts n bolts, job done
No problem Its taken a looking time to get her to this stage, one of my dream bikes I am lucky enough to own. Thanks
