The 803cc version is fun. Lots of fun. The 1100cc is even more so. Everyone on the WDW trip here agrees it’s the best and most complete bike to ride the different roads that we’ve ridden in Italy these past 4 days.
Normally I would agree on the booster plugs as most of this type of device are fakes But with the booster plug it just told the ECU on bike the temp was 20 degrees less than it was so that it constantly overfuelled by about 0.5 to 1% which was enough to overcome the lean running and jerkiness Downside was temp gauge was always 20 degrees out It really did help on the scrambler 800 The 1100 has no fuelling issues The seat is 120 mile ok and 80 mile comfortable and the suspension works as it should even on the standard model. All the negatives on the 800 are fixed It goes well we would all like a little more but it is fun Above around 80 to 90 miles an hour and wind is a bit of an issue but no different to any other naked bike Plus I prefer the styling I had my 800 for nearly 3 years and was in 2 minds for the change but am glad I did
Sorry but just to get my 2 cents in....dont bother with any plug in boxes....take it to a dyno and get the ecu reflashed and mapped correctly. Find a good dyno operator like CJS for example and he will carry out other mods that can be done. My mate has an 821 scambler and i talked him into going. Reckons its the best thing he ever did from a performance point of view (and yes his is lovely to ride at 30 and below). Standing by what i say all my bikes have been mapped on a dyno and reflashed....id even go so far as to say that i almost wouldnt consider a bike that couldnt be mapped/reflashed.
I’ll probably end up doing that. I live in North/mid Wales so a long way from anywhere though. Anyone know of a decent outfit not too far out?
Well, its a bit of a ride (but, hey, youve got a new bike) and the weather is hot as fuck at the moment so id say CJS (nr bristol) about 15 mins ride from my house, if you can get a saturday booking your free to come by mine on the way and ill take you there (its out in the stix) Text Chris ( he never answers his phone ) and get booked in, you wont regret it. Ive had all my bikes done there. Get your bike in order first (exhaust, air filter etc etc ) before you go....
Without sounding a bit creepy travel on friday, stay at ours, (without sounding silence of the lambs weve got a spare bedroom in the basement) and get there fresh as a daisy saturday morning to watch Chris empty your tank....
That’s really cool, thanks. I’ll definitely consider that. I’ll get my first service sorted first. I’ve also just been gifted (cheap) a Dan moto XG-1 with baffles. A mate had it on his bike for about a week before his neighbours complained... His loss, my gain
Just enquired at Ducati Nottingham. The 0% finance could persuade me. Just want to know how long for delivery.
Silence of the lambs...basement.....watch Chris empty your tank. Gotta be a euphemism. Or is it an euphemism ? Either way unless we are talking Chris Evert from the 1970`s in a short tennis skirt I`m out !
Ignore them. The one thing I've learned over the years is that if you ride a motorcycle of any description you belong to a family. That one interest is a bond of sorts and is enough to bring people together. That said, stop sending me naked pics...
If you’ve been put off staying with comfysofa your welcome to stay with us, there’s a spare rack in the dungeon since Igor passed on, well I say passed on, more murdered really.
Well, as a follow up, I did 140 miles yesterday. I deliberately hit some B Roads, including single tracks. I will definitely be upgrading the seat and suspension, I was walking like a Cowboy all day today... I also felt quite bad vibrations through the bars/grips at times, particularly the right hand side. I’ve a feeling that would be sorted with front suspension upgrades... I will probably change to adjustable levers too, the clutch lever is too far from the grip. Aside from all that, I love the bike and had a great afternoon.
Fill the bars with lead shot in balloons or rolled up lead sheet and fit heavy bar end weights I tried a few seats and found for me the Sargent was best
