As per the title, just purchased a minter 999 (6000 miles from new) - already done more miles in the last five days than it did during the last two years!!!! However it lacks a complete tool kit if anyone has one they would like to sell...oh and two half turn bolts and clips for the underside of the fairing! Cheers Grant
Are you sure you want quick release bolts for the fairing underside? I assume you mean the two right underneath the engine. The reason I ask is that, when fasteners underneath let go at speed, the unfurling of the fairings, whilst beautiful, is expensive. Not to say dangerous.
Hmm. Original fairings? Mine (an older model) has two allen bolts that locate into two well-nuts clipped to a tab on one side of the fairing lower. that arrangement can still fail but I feel it is more secure than using a Dzus or similar arrangement. Just an opinion.
Should be well nut and dome Allen screws. I use stainless, don’t corrode/seize. Don’t use dzus, if they come undone your fairing will let go. I also changed the dzus behind footrest for wellnut/Allen.
I have a toolkit up for grabs. £75+ postage. My 999S has wellnuts and my 999R has Dzus. The wellnuts are a bitch to locate properly so I'll be changing them for Dzus at some point, notwithstanding the above points.
I did exactly this! Cannot recommend it enough. My previous 749 struck a bird at what I'll euphemistically call "speed", and the impact popped the bottom Dzus and caused the R/H fairing to flap up, come off and clock me on the head. Expensive, annoying and dangerous. Careful with those tabs BTW, they're fragile.
Expensive, annoying and dangerous. they're fragile.[/QUOTE] A bit like me! Your screen is on the way ce soir (can't be bothereed to write 'this evening') btw. I'm flying it over personally from Geneva and I'll post it on in the morning!

I'd have a check, but I think they're still available new? £50 or so? Been a while since I ordered one..... There were problems with the Dzus falling out of the bottom of the fairings resulting in the "parachute" effect. Well nut and a screw set up is much safer. the later bikes, '05 onwards iirc, were swapped over from the factory.
@nelly could you check and see if the tool kit is also available for an 848 Evo please if it is not to much trouble
Sorry I misread that, I thought you had some way of checking easily! I will call Italia Moto! Never thought of trying new!!
Cool thanks! Crikey, is that the whole kit or just the bag? I need the whole kit. If you can get it, and post it out (+ delivery obviously) ... I would be most grateful!
As far as I can tell, that’s the full kit. Wasn’t much to it if it’s anything like my 1098 one. I’ll order one up and go from there. If it’s just a bag, then I’ll have a handy bag
