Hi guys, having seen some real bodge jobs on filter cover removal,i came across these, so last oil change decided to give them ago ....made it so easy!! my 1199 is a 13 plate so has no thread in the cover...tapped an 8mm thread in while on the bike then screwed these in ...im sad i know but job made easy ...what do you think??
yea ..i had a couple of sets so thought id put one on to see what interest I get ...im just shocked at the things people have done to get this little cover off...
hi mate ,you dont actually need these they just make it easy and cleaner to do ...you could make anything from long 8mm bolts or 8mm stud and fasion up a handle or puller ...before i found these my mate knocked me up some 8mm t bars
My 1199 is a 2012. The oil filter cover doesn't have threaded holes where the fasteners insert. I fashioned the tool shown from an old gardening tool. It'll remove any oil filter cap in less than 5 seconds... guaranteed. It fits under the lower lip of the oil filer cap below the two fastener locations. Wiggle it once or twice from side to side and pull it straight out... done.
ha nice one fella !!! anyone else send in your pics and ideas as to what you use to get you cap off ….lol
