https://www.motorcyclenews.com/spor...ogp-redding-apologies-for-piece-of-s-remarks/ Ive got an rsv4 ( nothing wrong with mine ). Nice in a way to hear someone really say what they feel though!....might be me though.....i tend to " say it how it is " usually gets me into trouble though...
I don’t follow anyone on Twitter these days (well not actively) but Redding is worth the occasional dip in
I seem to remember him being on one of Barons trackdays....seems a bit more comfortable than all the others mixing with the regular joe public/scum...i like him for that reason.
Good on him i say, Aprilia aren't even at the races, KTM will be wiping the floor with them soon so they may as well pack up and concentrate on WSBK
Refreshing to hear a rider say what he really thinks rather than the corporate bullshit, and thanking Marks & Spencer for his underpants support. He may have gone a bit OTT but he's just a kid after all. Well said. Aprillia seem to have a less than ethical way of dealing with their riders, so maybe they deserve a bit back. Despite everything he's still a talented rider, they all are, even Cal Crutchmoan.
Must be heartbreaking though, he’s a fast rider and puts the work in but really has had luck against him and some tricky bikes. His comments about the wet weather levelling the machinery sounded sincere and his performance was definitely up there... seems a bit tough to be on the scrapheap so young. We need more racers being racers and not PR people, good on him for speaking his mind.
He’s eating humble pie now. https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/903440/1/redding-apologises-aprilia-postaustrian-race-comments
Unfortunately having spoken out he will have shit in his nest big style. No one will touch him now as they (and their sponsors) want people that tow the party line regardless. The situation was exacerbated by the fact he hasn’t be dealt a good hand contract wise, but he’s made it even more difficult to get any kind of a contract with his outburst. And no amount of apologising will fix that. The genie is out of the bottle.
Dont think it matters that much tbh. If someone wants a rider like him (mid pack at best, British for sponsorship opportunities) they'll sign him
Personally I think he has shot himself totally in the foot, look at the difference between him and Sam Lowes, who held his head high and while he did make the odd comment indicating his feelings he largely kept quiet. I want them to be able to say whatever they want (within reason) as much as anyone else but the reality is somewhat different when sponsors are involved.
