Tuono V4 is in my opinion the best road bike out there. But what would I know, I’ve just chopped mine in for a 1299!!
Careful what you wish for. You might wake up one day with a leather jacket and a Harley fat boy in The garage saying sentences like “I kinda like just plodding around” Or “who wants to go fast anyway, I may as well arrive in comfort “ Then you will purchase heated grips for that autumn ride and you mrs will come with you. Her idea will be to get those Intercom things so that she can Nag you whilst you ride ha ha
It’s a budget thing. It’s unplanned spend, and may be sold almost straight away when it comes back, and trying to keep cost tight. Started with 3k and doubled that already...! (Money planned for something else)
Shit....I have a bike that’s comfy, do just go for a plod along and have heated grips Does them mean I’m meant to ride slow too now
Been speaking to a guy who's just had to cough £1000 for the 18K service on his S1000R. Loads of valves needed shimming and there were gearbox issues too. It's out of warranty but as he's a repeat PCP customer the dealer fixed those out of goodwill. Would have been nearer 2K otherwise. If you're planning to put some miles on it I bet the servicing costs are no cheaper than a 1098 SF, and a V4 Tuono will probably be worse. My 1290 Super Duke is coming up to 18,000 miles now and £/bhp its the cheapest bike to run I've ever had.
TBH the miles will mainly go on the multi. These will be occasional road miles work and back and trackdays.
Not pretty enough? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mv-Agust...136983?hash=item590c9454d7:g:xegAAOSwZ~ha9Fhi
Fear of gearbox and reliability issues. Mine went with a rather dodgy gearbox...and I’d like a QS but wouldn’t use one on a Ducati
QS is fine on the Mrs and ( touch wood haven’t had an issue with Gb on either ) - think you could worry about issues on anything you look at They all have something that could go wrong
