Hi guys. Pleased to join you. I’m a long term Ducati addict and looking forward to sharing experiences and knowledge with you Cheers Chris
The silver lady was registered new in 2008 in Dublin and I have owned her as an ex-demo since June 2008. We have had a lot of adventures together. Sorry about it not being red but the monster and the 999 are red Been a member of other forums but this one has been super useful in my research regarding Multistrada. Great to meet you all! Hope so head out for a ride some time. C Forgot to mention the flies and protein on the front are not Ducati standard hahahahah
For me it is about the London emissions, right now I have a harem of bikes and I can only ride two to work and one of those is the YBR125 I bought for my kids to learn to ride on! (and it's red hahahaha) Was considering the Multi as a replacement for the ST3, the Ducati Specialist I use in London reckons he has not seen any howlers yet. Normally with forums you only hear the worst anyway (read any landy forum ) I find personally that with any Ducati as long as you ride it often and sometimes a little hard, then they will serve you very very well. certainly better than the BMW I still have (that is mostly in bits again). Test drove the Multi Saturday and was pleasantly surprised!
From what I can gather there are plenty of Multi riders who are perfectly happy with the reliability. Interesting what you say about the BMW though. I had an ST which was always super reliable. Now wondering if I should get another or a Multi. See my thread about being unwell. Humorous if nothing else.
Welcome. I have an ST3 as well - and a ST2 and a S4R Monster. If I had space then my next choice would be a multistrada.
The ST3 went today and I collect a red Mutley on the 3rd Sept, it's a bittersweet thing but works for the changes in emission regs that are coming to London (sigh) Here's to anew set of adventures on the Mutley! Even if it does look like red from Angry birds
Welcome to the forum, good luck with your new bike. Being a current multi owner I can't fault it, I bought it to do the miles and so far Spain and France twice, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and over to Norfolk plus just bobbing around on it. It's my fourth Ducati after the 900ss, S4 and S4rs monsters. Consider the termignoni and ECU tuning and you'll love it.
I tried a 2016 1200 DVT. Bog standard no skyhook. It was a big presence and felt akin to my old GS1100. The cockpit is very impressive and it pulls like a train! It feels very weird for me moving from the more sporty position to something more ummm middle aged (ok so I am middle aged). I have no idea if it will have the character of the ST3. Which was a cracking bike and seemed to have a pretty flat torque curve. But time will tell.
I’m picking up the new machine today. Still no name for it yet. But will report back in a couple of weeks once I have had a play. Thinking of taking it wales to visit family this weekend as a baptism of fire. Cheers C
