They are co They are contracted to start a race but not to finish it. Having seen what happened to Rabat today if I were them then I don’t think it’s worth the risk. The track doesn’t drain the water. Whoever resurfaced it is in for a lawsuit I reckon.
Listening to the commentators they did say that the water stands there as the track is very flatso takes time to drain away i guess
They were still brushing the standing water off the track just before qualifying started. Rins was doing 190mph down the Hangar straight before he decided jumping off was preferable to trying to get the bike round the corner. That would not make great racing to watch. Rabat has multiple fractures to his leg. That could be life changing.
#So surely there is negligence on silverstones part in letting the qualifying go ahead as it's the safety officer's task to sign the track off for safe racing for all the competitors
