Reminds me of the time the mrs found the invoice for my 899 Now I’ve got a KTM it’s going to be hard to switch brands. I can just get the model update and she won’t notice the difference - it’s an orange motorbike!
Yeah I did come across some pretender....I gave him every advantage, let him go first, ride the roads he rides every week, I even let him choose those little fiddly roads where SuperRetards should be quicker but there I was...encouraging him along! Nice low power bike for girls but not for real men Great ride buddy, the beast is still there, flying back up morning of the 6th, may need to get some rubber then batter over to Mallaig to meet the boys for tour 9.2. You’re welcome to come part way if free, say to Pitlochry?
I melted a rear tyre riding back and forth between Mallaig and the Glenfinnan monument. Epic high speed scratchers road if you've got it to yourself and there's none of those nasty little white vans around..
Yeap we’re going to miss the EU funding roads that go to sleepy wee villages in the arse end of nowhere. ;-). Achnasheen is another where if you want to do big digits you could, if closed by the police etc etc.
It wasn't the EU's money, it was yours and mine. For every pound the EU doles out for road building, you've had to pay in two pounds to start with. Without the EU fees to pay we'll have more money to spend on roads, not less - if we want them built and we elect the people who are willing to get it done, of course. But enough of that nonsense. That's a whole other thread. The A87 between Glen Moriston and Shiel Bridge is another favourite of mine. Much early morning foot-scraping done there.
My OH thinks I paid 8K for my RSV4 and 7K for the Scrambler!!! I haven't bothered correcting her as she seems relatively happy with those estimations.
Ok Gimlet, don’t start boring me/us with politics, focus on scratching roads. Actually don’t, otherwise them English will be all over them. Like it’s not bad enough every shop, B&B and hotel seems to be owned by them! Dammit, now I’m getting political. ;-)
I agree. Less traffic too a lot of the time and far fewer feckin camper vans. Don't tell the Jocks or they'll be down there in no time clogging them up and leaving blobs of clootie dumpling all over the place.
Wales....as good as Scotland? I don’t think so bradders, not unless all hidden around Snowdonia where I’ve not ventured much?! I’ve ridden all over the Brecons and a little further north many many times and there are some decent sections for sure, but nothing close to the number of long, twisty, unpopulated sections in Scotland. There’s a reason my friends and I do the long slog to Moffat (and back) twice a year - and these are guys who live in Bristol so ride Wales most weekends. Ok so it’s not just riding, there may be a little camaraderie/ alcoholic consumption. Happy to learn of good sections in Wales and will be delighted if they can match my beloved Ballater to Braemar to Pitlochry or even just Ballater to Tomintoul to Aviemore. One is over Glenshee the other the Lecht, Scotland’s ski mountains...I use the term loosely. ;-)
That’s right laddie, we came down to steal your jobs and women....although after a look around I decided to bring my woman with me.
