Great article on Casey Stone trying to explain his sliding technique; Article They might need a new level at CSS to cover this!
How to slide at home: Step 1: Pour diesel over your favourite corner Step 2: Go for it Step 3: Enjoy your full 50 milliseconds of sliding Step 4: Pick up bike, bike bits, and other miscellaneous items that may have become dislodged as you and it were hurtling along the floor...
Whats the big deal about CS and slide ? Racers have been sliding for years..................... McCoy Slide - YouTube
To be fair I don't think anyone's claiming he invented it; it's that in the current era of traction control and 800-era precision cornering, he's the odd man out, which is what the article was trying to explore. If one tries to work out why he's the only guy to be able to ride the Duc, what he's doing into corners must be a big part of the answer.
I would have liked to read it but as soon as I saw the Stoner tag I immediately fell asleep and my arms started to ache.
