I'd have preferred it not to be last week. We are the nothernmost circuit on the calendar, stick it at the height of our summertime, not on the cusp of September.
Well shiver me timbers, you learn something every day. I still want the British GP in July though. I wonder if it has something to do with boring F1 taking precedence on the calendar?
My memeory is telling me Silverstone have initiated their F1 contract get out clause and 2019 will be the last British F1 to be held at Silverstone. I’ll have a chat with Espasito and see what I can do for you in 2020. Andy
Though that’s essentially a ploy to renegotiate a new deal as the cost escalator on the current one meant that Silverstone was hosting the F1 race at an ever increasing loss. Silverstone want to keep F1, they just can’t afford it under the current contract.
