I think BMW riders are definitely knobs

  1. I hate to admit I love it, although I do have a Ducati 998S and Fireblade CBR 1000rr to take out my frustrations on when the need arises. However I intend to singlehandedly change the worlds perception of GS owners as knobs. No BMW branded anything allowed in this house, no BMW dealers pockets will be lined by me and I shall wave at everybody and look down on nobody (other than from my lofty height) . No wobbling while filtering and maybe the occasional rebellious wheely even:upyeah:

  2. Excellent response - nice to see you didn't take the bait - I know now of 2 good GS owners

  3. I was plodding along minding my own business one day years back, when a new BMW R1150G/S came hammering past me at a great rate. I gave chase, naturally, but in all honesty I was struggling to keep up. Only traffic lights saved my blushes. I got the drop on him at the lights and gave it my all, only for the beemer to ride round the outside of me on a roundabout:eek:

Next set of lights revealed the truth - it was Sean Emmett roadtesting for Fast Bikes...

  4. Usual elitist bollocks on here then. Big hand all round. I've met just as many wankers riding a Ducati as a Bimmer, more actually as I've met more Ducati riders ;-)

Simply put 2 wheels of any kind is good in my book, long as it has a 50cc engine or above and gears...enjoy your GS, one of the best bikes I ever owned :upyeah: just stay away from light coloured goretex

  6. You'd have struggled to keep up with me on one ;-p

Well except theoutside lane of a m'way, obviously

  7. Pics, or it didn't happen...

  8. I am kind of inclined to agree. I had a ride on a BMW 650 a while back and found it as quick as most things cross country! All bikes look the same in the dark! (I'm standing by for an onslaught of abuse!)

  9. Sorry Ian, you lost me there; and 848 in pitch black zero light still looks better than a GS bimmer lol

  10. I dont get the bmw owners are knobs thing.
I have seen many knobs on Ducatis over the years and more so tbh

But you need to be a knobber to ride a Hardley Movingson.

  13. Lol:smile:

  14. Can I make a confession here? I actually would rather like a GS, just to see what all the fuss is about.

  15. so you don't really understand what your talking about at the moment then...........say its not so!

  16. Fig+Sunday= Pissed ?

  17. No. Nor would I pretend I do.

I do have eyes, though, and I've counted the sheer number of buffoons I've seen on the road, and the vast majority of them bear an uncanny resemblance to Charley Macgregor...

  18. And I've still got more likes than you...

  19. Not had a drink for two weeks old chap. No wonder I'm getting fractious:frown:

  20. Well actually thats the problem, they are an absolutely brilliant bike and believe you me they can fairly hustle on back roads. Ok the outside lane on a motorway is hardly their forte, but who cares, they will sit on a motorway at 90 and it feels as if you are in an armchair with no wind blast at all. Great character and strangely addictive.
