Genuine Parts Site Or Scam??

  1. Has anybody else used this site?
    https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com
I have recently ordered some screws and fasteners and am having trouble receiving the parts several weeks after paying with Paypal.
I have raised a complaint with Paypal but shortly after doing this, I received an empty envelope with just a packing slip enclosed, despite many attempts to contact them I have received no reply.
Any thoughts or experience of this website??

  2. My wife signed for the envelope and Paypal have now cancelled the claim as the seller has said the items have been delivered.

  3. Never heard of Mr Kronenbourg, I really am 354 years old!!

  4. Isn't everything with these babies??!!...no not really just hate being ripped off!!

  5. Never heard of them. Registered in UK but director is/appears to be Chinese?....
Prices are no better than Ducati but carriage seems expensive. Probably got a deal with a dealer and orders stuff as required.
Order directly from your local dealer would be my advice.

  6. Looks like you have been stitched up - put a complaint in the PayPal - ring them, they will no doubt have issues elsewhere with this so called company and will listen - the help line is based in Ireland and they are very helpful...

  7. Don't use paypal, it's a scam and as you have found out offers no meaningful recourse!

  8. Thanks, have emailed them but will also give them a call tomorrow, in the meantime would advise anyone else to avoid this site, just thought it seemed convenient & would save the time going to local dealer.

  9. That company rang a bell when I seen the name, I used them in 2017 and again this past April for difficult to get parts for my 888 and had no problems at all, Looks like ive been lucky then.

  10. PayPal, certainly don’t use for anything significant, say over £100.

A while ago bought some stuff totalling £550 via PayPal. Company went bust before goods were delivered, no hope of getting anything significant back. If I’d paid directly with credit card would probably have got whole lot refunded. You lose all the normal credit card protections when paying via PayPal.

    End of public service announcement.

  11. Thought the whole point of PayPal was buyer protection ?!

  12. Not been in that position but I was led to believe that was the whole idea of using PP? Can't understand why you wasn't covered.

  13. I’d guess that it’s becaue something arrived: buyer could lie and say it was empty. So no claim as such.

You’d expect seller to work something thru with buyer tho

  14. Sending an empty envelope is pretty underhand...
I tend to use pp because it is so very convenient.
Buying by credit card gives better protection though.

  15. I don’t know about others but it seems that the whole ‘signed for’ system is looked upon as a nuisance by delivery people these days. I find parcels outside the door that were supposed to be signed for, and when people do want a signature they make it clear that they’re not hanging about so if you were to say - hang on a minute, let me just check the contents - it seems clear to me that this would be frowned upon. Of course, it would be appear to be entirely my fault if the contents were damaged/missing but as said, no one is encouraged to examine the contents before signing, maybe its just me again.

  16. You can pay witl your credit
If they have done it once they will have done it more and PayPal will sort it if you ring them. I've never encountered a more helpful call center tbh when dealing with some unscrupulous buyers. Had one pay via credit card through Paypal in the Czech Republic - delivered some 999 timing Belts via Tracked & Signed. Two weeks after they were delivered the buyer claimed he had not authorised the use of his credit card. Paypal put the value on hold - I rang them and withing 5 minutes the money was released back to me and they opened an investigation with the credit card provider and said that's the last I would hear.

  17. Exactly why my PP account is linked to my credit card. Double bubble protection.

@Chris we have had ‘left in porch’ (we don’t have one), ‘left with neighbour’ when it’s on the doorstep, ‘signed by occupier’ when it’s left (thrown) over the fence into the garden.

Hermes are absolute wankers for it. Mrs B had parcel left on door step, card and system said ‘with neighbour’, she asked for proof signature, couldn’t supply so got her money back...

  18. So your Mrs scammed them... cool :upyeah: Hermes are terrible, would never use them to send stuff.

  19. Ive ordered from the twice now. Took an age to arrive but did come through. The dealer in the UK who will be supplying the parts is inmoto
