Fin's idea and a good one. Pretty much everyone, whether they're Brexiteers, remainers, Tory, Labour, left, right or somewhere in between agree that Theresa May is an absolute disaster and she probably won't last till the next general election. So using our imagination, if we were not restricted to the limited and generally dismal selection of nominees served up to us by the political establishment but could choose anyone at all to be the next PM, who would we choose? Doesn't matter which party, doesn't have to be a politician or even a public figure. So regardless of single political issues (Brexit, Indy etc), ideological obsessions and tribal loyalties/antipathies, who, quite simply, would be worthy of the task of leadership? Nominations please. I'm still thinking.....
Tommy Sheppard. a good speaker, a visionary, a good socialist and democrat, pragmatic well prepared and a hard worker. politics aint a business.
Funnily enough, that was the first name that came to my mind as well. Imagine how much better quality the debates in Parliament would be. I'd stay home every week to watch him take on Corbyn in PM's questions.
yip, a socialist, we are a social species, who else would you want, somebody that profits from division or somebody promoting competition, diversity but with a healthy dose of the community and the personal profits that can be taken from it. i have a dream. to do the difficult things. aye, stuff of fairy tails. anyhoo, here's a bit of Sheppard, i can listen to him all day and agrre with most of his stuff. starts and ends with Muir, brexit and english content, indi heavy. dont watch if easily offended. it's just a freekin bike forum.
out of us three there's only one with a successful managerial track record. but i still dont want to be PM, but deffo an advisor.
Tommy sheperd can't do anything, his wig is one of Trumps so is only allowed out when trump is sleeping
out of us three there's only one with a successful managerial track record. but i still dont want to be PM, but deffo an advisor. as you know loz, and often refer to it, the advisors at ministerial level hold more control. you only hope the ministers would show better judgment.
You would need to go to politics school so more of a longer term view dontcha think for many many years
