Hi all, First post sorry it’s a rant but be gentle ok. I have 1199 abs 2013 first ever Ducati done a couple of thousand miles first few months love the bike, then engine light intermittently would come on and go out after a mile or so but no difference to running but took it up to Ducati Leeds which is a 130 mile round trip first chance I got. Plugged it in and was told the upmap sensor needed replacing couldn’t do it then would have to book it in and come back in a few weeks and they would also do a recall fix and replace ANTI ROTATION. Went back a few weeks later and had the work done, lights out now happy days, rode the 60 plus miles home in the rain just put it away as I’m soaked. Next it’s a few weeks later as I’m out of the country the next day so first chance I get when I’m back I will give it a good clean as you do, now I notice a couple of spots of oil on the floor never had anything leak before?,oils also around the back wheel and more worryingly sprayed all on the left side of the tyre (rode the 60 plus miles home in the rain) so I clean everything start the bike and decide to take it to my local shop Rm motors I use for general stuff and mot’s which is around 10 miles away, set off all’s good but within a couple of miles engine lights on and it’s in limp mode WTf, so about to find somewhere to pull over, engine light goes out ride the rest of the way all good until I park up lights on again explain about the leak and light, leave the bike, turns out oil leak is coming from the ANTI ROTATION!, Spoke to Ducati Leeds about and after explaining that no I can’t ride it the 60 plus miles to them as oils running around the chain and onto the tyre and it’s intermittently in limp mode I’m told that we sometimes have a vehicle in your area we will collect it, we will call you back, this was 5 days and I’m still waiting, to say I wish I had never bothered taking it is an understatement!. Welcome. Normally I would say enjoy, but seems you are having a bit of a tough time. How you get it sorted!
Welcome Dave. Unfortunately I’d never deal with Leeds. I’ve found them to be rude and unhelpful in the past. They had 3 strikes and they’re out.
Just doing some reading up...looks to be an o ring and a seal....i find anything mechanical like therapy so id replace it my self then i know its done right plus i get to clean also...
