just a quick hello and see if anyone rembers me? last Duke was back in 2006! Owned a Genuine Ducati 999R Fila Rep and was know as Aka the " The Tart Boys" along with my other buddy on a 999S . We used to meet up with lots of DSC sporting members for regular meet ups and organised events... well after some major issues with the 999R i moved back too the Jap stuff. Purely for its reliability and ease of use. Who would have thought all theses years later I would be back and bitten by the same bug! so we had a Ducati 959 come in a few weeks ago and could resist taking it home for a few days.... Wow I was totally hooked. Don't get me wrong my old 14 plate blade was a complete weapon in the right hands. It was massively modified in a good way and only weighing in at 176kgs wet! i enjoying modifying as much as riding but it was pretty soulless compared to the 959. So I've got a vision in my head of how I want the new bike to look and perform. So far I'm pretty impressed but have lots to do to get it into blade territory.... will get some pics up later but for now i just wanted to say Hi.....
Nope don’t recognise you and where’s ya bins you can’t come in here without bins We like them Everyone comes back
Welcome back Dunlop Dave. I'm not sure your "Genuine 999R FILA" was genuine though, the writing is all backwards and that. Might have been a Chinese copy and you actually had a "rice burner" before you had a "genuine rice burner".
Thanks for the warm welcome... picture was taken from an old picture. Was definitely the real deal. Was originally supplied by Ducati Coventry. The new 959 is proving to be far more reliable and seems to run more consistently than the old stuff. You never used to know what you would get with the old bikes. One day it would run great and the next time out it would feel flat and lumpy. Plus this ones not leaking oil out the gaskets and oil recirculating system. Bonus! plus no more belts and good service intervals. No where near so agricultural. Gearbox is one of the sweetest I've sampled too.... I'm loving it.
I nearly contacted you to buy your Dymags off your blade but then I just bought a Ducati instead. Your Blade was one of the best I’d ever seen on that forum. I’ve found my Ducati to be next level in every department after the Blade though. Great choice.
What a small world.... and thanks for your comments. The blade was a complete weapon and still miss it greatly... but was time to move on with a different project. Missing the Dymags too.
