  1. See, if you were really lucky and lived in the Doncaster/York/Hull triangle, then you could try these guys ( Adis Motorcycles Home ) I've used them for a good few years now, and they always do a great job. They have just carried out the 15K service on my 1200 Mutley with no probs at all. Adi has a laptop and correct connections so can reset the service reminder. He has done Testastretta engines before, but mine was the first Mutley. He reckons the next one will cost just under £500 - this includes VAT !! Highly recommended

  2. 15k Service Anyone?

  4. 15000 mile service cost me £950. Bit of a shock.

  5. Had mine done for £450 incl. VAT at Sycamore Ducati in Uppingham. They are no longer an official dealer (since December 12) but are still servicing Ducatis. I was very happy with their service. Valves were checked but no shims required. Definitely worth traveling further to save a few £100s.

  6. I'll most likely use an independant to do mine as the bike will be out of warranty anyway, but insist on genuine parts.

  7. That's exactly what I will do, not prepared to pay over £500 for a service, ridiculous

  8. Careful, you'll be slagged off for buying a £15k bike and moaning about the service costs. I know I did when I complained on here.

  9. Probably right, but a lot of the Multi owners are new to Ducati's, if you've been riding Ducati's for years (like myself) you'll be used to yearly bills anywhere between 500-1000 quid easily so 15,000 mile major service intervals is a huge step forward IMO

  10. Job's booked at 6 hours. Parts and oil will be a couple of hundred. Add the VAT in and £500 comes up pretty quickly. Servicing costs get thrashed to death, but the only way of saving on them is not to put time or parts into the job. Labour rates play a big part depending on where you are, but £50 a hour is a ball park. Bigger dealers tend to be a bit more and the closer you are to the equator seems to bump it up.
    You pays ya money.....

  11. It's my first one.

  12. Bothered? Nope not one bit!

  13. Not in London it isn't.

  14. £83.50 an hour in Cardiff.

  15. Then get it serviced elsewhere, some dealers do offer a collection and drop off service free! some charge also. My local dealer doesn't get any work from me, never has never will. In fact one f my bikes was returned yesterday by my chosen dealer FOC

  16. Picked mine up this morning from M&S in Newcastle. Belts, plugs, fluids etc, no valves needing adjustment £397.
They do a decent winter labour rate every year which helps no end on big services like this.
Top bunch of blokes too :upyeah:

  17. That's more like it!

  18. 2 year service and or 15,000 miles, advice please?

My bike is about to be 2 years old and has done around 11,000 miles. Should I go for an oil change now and get the full valve clearance done when it is due on mileage or is that waisting money and get them whole thing done now?

  19. What sort of mileage are you planning this year? It's a tight line between going for an annual or going he whole monty.
the desmo services are designed to be done along side the annual schedule, rather than as an extra...
