  18. gave up on trying to remove Shimano cranks from bicycle without brute force/irrepairable damage the standard system for removal just isn't good enough. New cranks and bottom brkt on order soon :upyeah:

  20. thanks Martin, I knew I was going to have to explain - these cranks are the cheapy end of the range and the depth of thread is just too shallow if they are particularly tight/ never been removed in 10 plus years. I used similar extractor to yours plus heat all to no avail. Was totally ready for this conclusion it having happened several times before, i've seen some more elaborate pullers with jaws that go behind crank boss but can't justify the money for the number of times I will use it :upyeah:
