I cannot find one picture of a genuine european market 998 monoposta with a biposta subframe. I can however find several pictures of Japanese market 998s being marketed as monopostas that have a biposta subframe. IIRC (a big IF) this was discussed a couple of years ago but I cannot remember what the final conclusion was. I also seem to remember that at one point, there were more monopostas for sale in the UK than were believed to have been delivered by Ducati. Andy

I've a 998s that is a biposta on the receipt and v5, but was sold with the monoposta seat, bigger exhaust and new ecu... from new.... Does that help?
No...………. I've a BIP base model that was sold new with an S spec engine kit and carbon bodywork (original still bubble wrapped from new). That won't help either
It certainly may help to explain why there are so many 998s (plural not S) being sold with mono seats and bip rear subframes. Just reinforces my opinion that if the bike has a bip subframe, it’s unlikely to be a genuine mono although I do remember someone putting a bip rear subframe and seat on a genuine mono however bizzare that sounds.
