Tommy Bridewell qualifies P2 ! http://www.bikesportnews.com/news/news-detail/oulton-bsb-saturday-qualifying-times-and-race-results1
Yeah awesome job by him and the team! Haslam starts 23rd...another broken bike. Anyone hear Shakeys comments about Bird and PBM asking for all engines to be sealed until end of the year? They were talking about Hickman and not Haslam having a failure...and he mentioned the word ‘cheating’
Just been catching up with the recording whilst enjoying a beer or two and some roast belly pork nibbles with bramley apples from the garden. Carole is good to me . Awesome result for Motorapido racing. Andy
Didn’t hear that but I heard Brad Ray’s team had the monopoly on gsxr crankshafts as the ends had been dropping off ....
Great racing. Haslam showing he really is at his best. Makes you wonder what WSBK will be like next year (i.e. even more boring or him taking it too Rae!)
Great weekends racing although the campsite was a bit muddy. One of the highlights was Rutter firing up his RCV in the back of the truck although it hasn’t done my tinnitus much good.
Once again BSB shows WSB how its done. Jake was awesome, Tommy brill. Even on same bike I think Leon will struggle to match Johnny. He really should be in MotoGP on a competative bike. Hes a cut above the rest of the field.
Rae seems to do what he wants, when he wants, with that bike. His ability to arrow in on an early apex yet still get great drive is incredible. Note they all talk about how settled the bike is on entry: worth noting for all those who add exhausts, lightened bits, lithium battery before sorting suspension yet hoping to go faster..!
Well, that was the last time I’ll hear the V twin Superbike live and I admit to having a heavy heart as we drove out of Oulton. I know the cogs keep turning and you have to move with the times but the screaming four cylinder bikes just don’t have the same appeal as the booming twins. I’ve never heard a V4 Ducati yet but fingers crossed the exhaust note will be as distinctive as the twin cylinder bikes. Had a chat with McGuinness and he’s riding one of the PBM bikes at Macau so I guess that will be the last international race for the V twin.
The WSB team are committed to the new V4R and PBM are rumoured to have ordered some. The current generation V twin is still eligible to race so I wouldn’t be surprised if some teams still run that bike for another season. The investment in the new V4R won’t be just money, stating the obvious, it’s a totally new bike, there will be no set up data for any circuit and your sponsors are going to have to be prepared to be happy for your rider/s to be off the pace for a lot of, if not the whole season. You might just get another season Andy
“Another broken bike “ ? If you look at this years results you will notice that Haslams is the only bike to finish every race so far this season ... nuff said
Last 3 Rounds Haslam won 6 out of 7 races ! If that’s having a problem I’ll take it lol. What issues has he had then ?
Team man. Team!! lol Mosey had some issues this season in qualifying and race and seems to really have affected him, so did Hickman (ok not same team but same bike), and Haslam has had a few issues in qualifying and races but managed to the end. Amazing performance to get to where he did after his qualifying problem Anyone heard any more news on Bird asking for all engines to be sealed??
All teams have issues as these bike are performing to their limits , Hicky is actually on a BMW not a ZX10, PBM , last season , used 22 engines in Shakeys bike and Leon only had 2 engines which were refreshed through the season so I doubt Mr Bird will be in favour of engine limitations , engines were sealed at the end of Silverstone and stripped at Oulton so maybe there’s some confusion there
