Still think we should tell the EU bollocks were off and were not paying any more money they would suddenly become more reasonable if they could see no more UK money after march
Unfortunatly have read a bit about the current EU/Checkes offers etc, if May signs up we will still be there lap dog and have to abide by their rules etc even allowing unlimited numbers of freeloaders into the country. I have no problem with immigration providing they can offer the UK something and have a job and accommodation arranged before applying to come in, much the same as Australia and Dubai.
Did we ever elect anyone as a leader? And what difference does that make: is it better too always follow and believe the other side rather than you’re own? Thank fuck many of the people on here and wider weren’t around at time of war!! I see Tusk is going all Donald Trumop https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-45599122
How many of these mates would actually vote though? Maybe a good number of them would withhold and say, "I'll just go along with the majority decision". You know, like actually happened.
I see May in two ways. 1. She is a sacrificial goat, a target for all the Brexit poisons so that when the time comes and she is jettisoned, the new Tory leader will be seen as the messiah of a new, independent UK and most people will follow, with a sigh of relief. That tactic has worked since Roman times so there is precedent. In other works, project a future of dark and dismal doom and when a mediocre alternative, unacceptable at any other time, is offered, it is embraced willingly by the public. 2. May is the proof that Britain cannot go it alone, without the EU, and the majority people will reluctantly agree that the Brexit decision must be walked back. This is the Deep State at work. Imagine how emboldened they will be to further dismantle democracy if this comes to pass ... that one-way trip to Mars is suddenly looking a lot better. We won't know which view is accurate until we see whether there is a Brexit worthy of the name. I pretty much guarantee that these are the only two options on the table.
Just watching that on the news. Frankly I'm not surprised at all by the EU actions, especially from the likes of Macron (a puppet) and stateless 'leaders' such as Juncker, Barnier and Tusk, although out of them all I always had Tusk down as the most statesman like, I think his seriousness slipped with his instagram post and that's a pity as I expected more from him At the end of the day I think they've just done themselves more damage than anything, not just about disagreement with the Chequers proposal, that's fine, disagree, but in the way they've been so dismissive and disrespectful to the leader of our country. Like her or not, you simply cannot condone unelected career politicians heading up the EU talking or acting so condescending towards a proper head of state. If you don't understand that then frankly you deserve no democracy Regardless of outcome, there's no way on earth I would be happy living under any control of the EU now, I dare say it's firmed up other people's resolve too.
That wasn't an Olly Robbins production, maybe the Raab team wrote it? Notice that there was no mention of the word "chequers"! I am a little reassured that she has at long last demonstrated some firmness to the EU. The closer I look at the EU, the more I'm glad we're taking a different road. FTSE up nicely at +1.41%, £ has drifted down a little.
In some ways I'm glad she got shafted, metaphorically, because now I suspect a few who voted remain and didn't understand our tiredness of the eu commissions arrogance, may just have well seen it first hand. The eu have scored a bit of an own goal I feel on this one. I saw Sky say the pound has plummeted but did not give the figure, it went from 1.315 to 1.309. (0.006) perhaps plummeted means something different for newscasters?
Good speech from May, Corbin's response was disgraceful, this was one occasion when our leaders should show a bit of solidarity, not political point scoring. Steve
Yes the percentages are obviously in our favour.. on trade alone they sell far more goods to us than we do to them... Corbin has come out with a good-en... he's telling Theresa May to "Stop the Political arguing within her own party & also with the EU leaders"...you really could not make it up...
Alyn's just pissed because 1 he still hasn't learnt to spell his name right yet and 2, April 1st 2019, he's looking for a new job and there are no elections within the U.K. to get a new one
