That really works for me! Want want want! The cafe racer bug is starting to bite hard these days.....
Now Guzzis seem to make a great Cafe jobbie, reckon its the long wheelbase and funny engine which doest interrupt the side view. Like.
Because they see other people with it and like the look, whether they believe the pseudo science is up to them. It's also the same reason you see stick on mohawks on crash helmets
Without doubt its crept up on me. Think what did it was racing in DD; loads of different fairings, clip ons on monsters, etc etc which gave them a look I started to like. Now I want one
Yes there supposed to be a 90th anniversary model and from all I've seen so far it should be pretty nice. Buut they went quiet since the last November :frown:
In car racing its often done to reduce under bonnet temperature. In v8 powered vehicles especially, heat can destroy the starter motor unless either a heat shield is fitted, or the exhausted lagged. As for bikes, exhausts are usually double skinned now, as it allows the cat (usually under the engine) to heat up faster due to the hotter gas reaching it. The cat doesn't work cold, so its all emissions, rather than power based.
always liked the look of this guzzi believe it was an ad for jet helmets edit possibly davida helmets ?
It was an ad for Davida helmets. The bike belongs to Ben Part, the photographer who took the photo and who is also, with journalist Gary Inman, a founder of Sideburn Magazine - "The world's only go fast, turn left magazine" WELCOME
Haven't seen that helmet ad for a long time but it ticks every one of my boxes  thanks for reminding me about it, and no doubt introducing it to others
