Was gonna sorn my bike today as well. Starting tomorrow, I have 2 weeks on a shit shift pattern, one week on a slightly less shit shift pattern and seven (hopefully) rota days off mixed in with those shifts so, as I had a good ride on Saturday I thought "feck it, I`ll give it another month.
Not borrowed money from anyone, ever, to buy a car or bike or transport? Not even bank of mum and dad...
That ride`s on my list of things to do, just need an eligible bike and a handlebar mouse-tash. As it happens, my Uncle has promised me first refusal on his 1960`s TriBSA, if/when he decides to sell it. I`ve been pestering him for years for that bike, still think I`ll have the bike long before I can grow a suitable moustache.
bradders,I purchased my first car when i was sixteen a MK1 golf GLS for £2200/2250 from pocket money/wages that i had saved up as a kid working bloody hard on building sites/washing cars,my second car was a MK1 golf GTI and i paid £5000 for it and over the twelve months paid the loan back in full to the folks, that's the only time i have ever borrowed money in life, and yes i'm very aware/grateful for my position in life
I only have for work cars, then took out loan for balloon. Car was paid for in 5 years. Never done it on a personal basis.
